Why would they let someone who is colorblind to do this job?? Would the employer used this later against him/her?? That would be so unfortunate.... All kidding aside, this is just another picture that makes me go "Eh..."
You may have seen this in grocery stores before, such as a super green bananas. The issue is that the fruits are picked long before ripening to account for traveling time. Fruits emit ethylene gas, which ripens the fruit after they are picked. Some fruits have to travel further to get the grocery shelves, therefore they were picked earlier. Fruits is quite perishable with short shelf life, so you will be losing money if the fruit spoils too quickly on the shelves and cannot be sold. Also, ripen fruits are usually softer and more easily bruised, therefore harder to transport.
