So by now, everyone who wants an iPhone 4S should have gotten one. There was a Verizon store right next to the Trader Joe's that I regularly go to, and there were people in line outside of the Verizon store waiting to get an iPhone 4S...and I do not understand why.
I did however, watch several review videos for Siri, the new voice recognition intelligence on the new iPhone 4S, and I noticed a couple things. First of all, Siri seems to require proper English pronunciation. The videos I've seen so far have all been done by reviewers who spoke English fluently with no accents(or just American accents). It occurred to me that you apparently need to enunciate for Siri to catch the phrase correctly. I really don't know what is going to happen if someone using it with heavy accents, and there are a lot of those in the U.S.
The second thing I noticed was some issues with speech to text with Siri. For texting and e-mailing, you need to say the punctuation, instead of just saying the words only. For example: "Hi Joe comma are you available for dinner tonight question mark", which can be very annoying even for native English speakers.
Thirdly, it seemed that Siri can be inconsistent at times. Several reviewers said that it gave them a different response when they asked the same question earlier. The lack of consistency may be frustrating when you actually want things to be done.
Lastly, there were times that it was taking longer to get an answer from Siri than just going to the App directly. But the delay was not too significant in most instances.
Oh well, I don't need an iPhone with only minuet changes and still cost me the same as the previous iPhones. I will let the MacTards do that.
