Parents wonder why kids don't like school...what is there to wonder?

So I started my first week at Cal Poly Pomona, and today, I met one of the most interesting professor in my college life.  My U.S. History professor is uber cool.  First of all, he looks like Philip Seymour Hoffman with a dark brown wig.  Second, he is constantly cracking jokes.  He graduated from UCLA, which rivaled against USC, therefore he made numerous jokes about USC.  I only know one so far: USC stands for University of Second Choice.  If you were to ask him about that, he will say UCLA is the first choice, obviously.  He also shows such understanding for students.  He also gave numerous reasons on why he does not like textbooks, which all students can agree on, and that is why he doesn't use a textbook for his class, HOORAY!!!  One of the reason was that the textbooks are all overpriced but students have no choice.  Those capitalist pigs...
It is nice to know that the professor is on your side.
