So, Apple sued HTC for patent infringement. HTC did not like that (obviously) and sue back. Ding, ding, ding! Suing war began. Then, Microsoft, short for M$, basically found the perfect time to strike, forced HTC into an agreement of paying royalties on HTC's Android phones. I hope that people are noticing that something is not right here. From what I am understanding, Google owned Android (Google did not developed the operating system, but they bought out the company who made them, conveniently called Android Inc.), so I don't understand that why M$ did not go negotiate with Google, but to HTC. Actually, most likely that M$ just want to go after a smaller company, since Google will put on a much bigger and tougher fight. HTC did not even put up a fight, which I really think that they should. Either way, I don't see that how M$ can claim that they hold the patent for the OS, since they had their own Windows mobile OS...(funny that in the report I've read regarding HTC and M$, they said that they felt "responsible" in keeping their "innovation" from other free-loaders...that already sounded like an oxymoron to me. M$ was built on stealing other's ideas if you research the history of M$ and Apple. So as far as I can see, no innovation that I could see from M$.)
So I guess that it all comes down to money. HTC is in the middle of battling Apple, and it would cost too much to also be battling M$. Poor HTC, I really want to support the company, but now I don't want to get any of their phones because I will end up paying M$ anyway. This whole "phone war" is getting out of hand. But bottom line, I hope Apple lose, and Google step in to help HTC fight off M$, and then Google end up taking over the world...wait...maybe we don't want Google be the sole winner either. Argh...so messy!
