Perhaps Iron Man series became such a great success was because many of the American attributes reflected in the movie: arrogance, pride, and self-glorification. Tony Stark was definitely very American. The movie overall was great, but with a few minor flaws. The actions and special effects were definitely one of the best selling points of the movie. The Script was well-written, and quite in-line with the original plot. However, there is no perfect movie......except for Dark Knight. Black Widow, aka Natalie Rushman, was supposed to be a Russian espionage, and had a thick Russian accent in the original cartoon. Maybe I am deaf, but I did not hear any accent.
Another failure was the love chemistry between Tony and Pepper, which also was not found in the original cartoon. Pepper was more like Tony's house keeper/mother. She was extremely sharp, and very straight forward and strong in character, unlike the Pepper in the movie, who was sharp, but not quite there. Pepper was always taking care of Tony's mess, and never fell in love with him, since he was a super playboy. Or maybe she fell in love with him, but able to pull out of it realizing their relationship and how Tony was. Either way, no love between the boss and the secretary.
Bottom line, it was still a enjoyable movie, but please do not bring your fricking baby to the theater. Also, be sure to stick around after the credits to catch a little 'preview'......of something(hint: thunder and hammer, no ,not that loser Justin Hammer, although I don't think this is the last of him quite yet)...and I will let you guys to figure that part out.
