My very first Hewlett Packard printer lasted eight years. EIGHT YEARS! That was some quality printer. With my extremely positive experience with HP, I bought another printer also from HP, the HP Photosmart C5280. It worked well, until it broke about 11 months later. I called HP's customer support, and they were happy to help with very good options. Eventually, they had me bringing the printer to Staples, one of their partners to take my C5280 from me. In exchange, I got a HP credit with the amount of the old printer at the current value to buy a new printer. It was a good deal. So I picked out the HP Officejet Pro8000 Wireless for under $80. Everything was still good, and HP did have decent options...until this one broke. It broke this very morning, two months after the warranty. The printer kept showing "paper jam" errors, when I already cleared the papers. I followed the guide on the HP website, but nothing worked. So I called HP's customer support line, but since the warranty had expired, nothing they could really do. One of the best option was to get the same printer at a discounted price: $100. Thanks, but No, thanks!
I went online and searched for solutions, but apparently many people had the same problem with this model. I had so much faith in HP, so I did not even bother checking the reviews on this model before I purchased it. When I traced back my experiences, both printer that I've bought after my ancient printer broke within two years. I supposed that since HP has defeated Dell at computer sales, they somehow lost the quality control on their printers department.
Sad, and disappointing...
